WUSTL X Mestiza: Seaside Elegance

This project integrates my personal design vision with that of an existing brand, Mestiza. I used a blue and white patterned toile fabric for the dress construction, which is a staple of the brand, while integrating my own design vision through the beaded honeycomb smocking. The dress aims to modernize a traditional 1950's silhouette through incorporation of subtle design elements: the faux pearl buttons on the bodice evoke seaside imagery, as does the flowing skirt with a ruffled hem.
