Slow the Drip

"Slow the Drip," an exercise in flat pattern construction for a button-up shirt and pants, was inspired by the processes of natural decay that occur in nature and in natural fibers. The earth-toned fabrics in combination with the organic line detail on both the pants and the shirt contribute to the motif of natural decay. The gradient colored beading in combination with the suspension of the tops and bottom portions by black strings mimics the appearance of a garment burned by fire. Both the pants and top have organic lines–the shirt along the placket and the pants on the edges–which unify the two pieces, and both the shirt and pants contain beading details.
